Con Edison held a press conference at a P.C. Richard & Son Superstore today, announcing that New York City and Westchester County residents are eligible to pocket $30 rebates from Con Edison when they buy Energy Star room air conditioners.

Ah, ragweed; everyone’s favorite fall allergen. I personally only have spring allergies, but I can certainly sympathize with fall allergy sufferers. The itchy eyes, runny nose and fatigue that comes with allergies can be brutal. However, there’s hope: to help relieve your symptoms, consider purchasing an air purifier for your home from P.C. Have you ever wondered what the best way to clean stainless steel surfaces was, or what’s causing your fridge to make strange chirping noises? Even if you don’t have a GE appliance, GE’s support page is a great resource for appliance troubleshooting. Some articles are meant for GE products only (like how to find the serial number of your appliance), but there are many general articles, some even with video, that you may be able to find helpful.
GE’s support page offers articles on cooling and cooking appliances, washers and dryers, dishwashers, compactors, window A/Cs, dehumidifiers, water heaters and more. The next time you’re having a problem with an appliance, chances are you may be able to find the answer there.

A mini fridge is a necessity for students going away to school. They’re a convenient way to store snacks and drinks while saving on trips to the grocery store… but do you know how to take care of one? Sure, a mini fridge might cost less than the textbooks you need for a semester, but you need to protect your investment. Here are some tips to make sure you get the most out of your fridge so you have it for your entire school career and beyond.
Step one is getting your fridge into your dorm, right? The most important thing to keep in mind is to keep the fridge upright at all times. Laying your mini fridge horizontally could cause problems with the mechanics that keep your fridge cold when you plug it in. Should you really need to lay it down any other way, try to lay it flat on its back or tilted for as short a time as possible. When you are able to stand it upright, wait 24 hours before plugging it in to allow the system to re-correct itself should anything have shifted during transport.

Toni Senecal from Toni On! New York stopped by one of our P.C. Richard & Son showrooms to check out some of the BBQ grills we have available and learn a fantastic recipe from our own Pat Dehner. He explained that our gas grills range from $99 to $8,000 for your absolute dream grill, and Toni was shocked to hear that you can cook anything on a Weber grill that you’d normally cook in your oven! Yes, we have done demonstrations where chocolate chip cookies were made on one of these fine grills.
