Richard & Son has carried GE appliances for almost as long as the store has been in business. In the tough economic climate of the 1940s, P.C. Richard took advantage of GE Financing to help customers purchase home appliances. The long-standing relationship was formed based on trust and reliability, but has been able to stand the test of time thanks to GE Capital’s expertise and scale.

We celebrated our first Pennsylvania store with visits from Smokin' Joe Frazier, Bernie Parent, Ike Reese and Hugh Douglas. We were hiring in Carteret, NJ and Danbury, CT, too. It was also a month for media: Did you happen to catch us on TV? We discussed wine coolers with PIX's Toni On! New York and home theater systems on Fox in Connecticut. We were happy to hear that Long Island's own Ken Dashow gave us a shoutout about P.C. Richard & Son's unparalleled service on his radio show at Q104.3. We celebrated the premiere of Sex and the City 2 movie with HP in our NYC stores.]]> May was a month of store openings in Philadelphia and North Haven. We celebrated the premiere of Sex and the City 2 movie with HP in our NYC stores.

Some people also took advantage of May to get their spring cleaning on. Did you clean out your refrigerator? Maybe not; it was surprisingly warm, so you were probably busy busting out the air conditioners a little early. We gave several A/C tips and tricks, including how to choose the right air conditioner for you and then how to maintain it. Our BBQ and A/C pre-season specials, huge tent sale in Bayshore and excellent recipes also helped us welcome the excellent weather. If you didn’t have an air conditioner, we showed you other ways to help beat the heat. I know I went to the beach with my Sony Reader for some relief.

Also, what’s a new month without our Sweepstakes of the Century, giveaways and P.C. Richard & Son Theater performances? We were happy to welcome Rob Halford from Judas Priest and the cast of Glee to the theater, congratulated 7-year-old Enzo for winning a once-in-a-lifetime tour of the Yankees dugout, and told you how to win a Bose Lifestyle V25 system.

We started selling the black Nintendo Wii with Wii Sports Resort, which made it to our list of 9 great Wii games for parties. What about trying your Wii on a new Sharp Aquos Quattron TV?

Finally, the month went out with a spectacular Memorial Day weekend, where we offered sales and product demos before, during and after the holiday. Our Memorial Day sale continues until June 6!

While listening to music through great, inexpensive Coby headphones, we welcomed the warmer weather with BBQ and AC sales and covered everything from portable appliances to our many Hot Deals of the Week. We celebrated Earth Day and Administrative Assistant's Day, as well as our monthly Sweepstakes of the Century with our April Sony electronics giveaway. A couple of quality video games came out for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 that earned points toward our Video Game Rewards Program, and we wrote a few helpful how-to guides, including how to prevent viruses from taking over your computer, how to use the modes on your digital camera, and how to increase your productivity with BlackBerry applications.]]> April was an exciting month for us. With Mother’s Day coming up early in May, we had some great inexpensive gift ideas (like cameras and camcorders!). Toni Senecal and her show Toni On! New York also covered on-the-go gadgets to use past Mother’s Day and into the summer, including the portable TV device FLO TV.

P.C. Richard & Son in Milford, CT We celebrated the opening of our Milford, CT and Northeast Philadelphia, PA stores, as well as the first month of our Facebook page. We spoke about some helpful parts of the P.C. Richard & Son retail chain, including the clearance center and Verizon kiosks where you can do everything from pay your bill to purchase a whole new phone.
