Football Fans Rejoice: Madden 11 is Out Tomorrow!

The official 2010 NFL season is scheduled to kick off on Thursday, September 9, but you can start the season tomorrow with the gaming industry’s most highly-anticipated sports title, Madden NFL 11! This game is available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii and PlayStation Portable for your football fix on the go.

This edition of Madden is expected to be the simplest, quickest and deepest one to date. Its new GameFlow system allows you to control the quarterback and execute an authentic NFL game plan one play at a time. You can customize and use your own offensive and defensive game plans, or execute the plays based on your favorite team’s real-life tendencies for an authentic game.

Games have also been reduced from 60 minutes down to less than 30! You’ll find yourself spending less time in the huddle and more time on the field. The controls have been tightened, too; run through holes, break tackles, and explode in the open field thanks to the intuitive and responsive Dual Stick Control. All-new locomotion provides true acceleration and deceleration, as well as natural planting and cutting, making Madden NFL 11 the most authentic looking and feeling football game to date.

Check out the short trailer below for more on Madden’s improvements in the 2011 version:

This game comes out tomorrow, but you can still preorder for some great perks. 5 Easy Games for Platinum PlayStation Trophies

For me, a big draw of purchasing a PlayStation title is for the trophies. Trophies are PlayStation’s achievement system to show off how much you’ve completed in a game. Bronze trophies are for simple tasks, while silver and gold are a little more complicated. Platinum trophies are earned when you’ve collected every other trophy in the game, and are therefore most difficult to achieve. Obviously, some platinum trophies are more difficult to get than others. Here are 5 smooth-sailing platinum trophies you can earn:

1. Burnout Paradise

This is an enjoyable game to get platinum in and will take anywhere from 20-30 hours of total play time. Make sure you have the EyeToy, since you’ll need it for the “Send a Mugshot or Smugshot” bronze trophy in order to take a picture for a friend. You’ll also need to get some trophies online and may need to team up with other trophy chasers to complete them.

2. Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection

This is one of the most fun games to achieve platinum in if you once owned a Sega Genesis. Each Sega title includes a trophy that can be obtained pretty early in each session. There are a few trophies that are more difficult to get than others, especially the puzzle game ones, but this is a great game to hunt for trophies with a friend. No online connection is necessary for this trophy.

3. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

This game wins the award for highest quality game with an easy platinum. The story, characters and overall game play are really enjoyable, and will take you between 20-25 hours to complete over a minimum of 2 playthroughs. There are 2 online trophies, but are very simple and you’ll get them almost instantly.

4. WWE: Legends of Wrestlemania

This is the easiest of the games on this list to get a platinum in, and will take you an easy 8-10 hours to complete. It’s also the game with the fewest trophies to accumulate! All trophies can be obtained across any difficulty level and you’ll only need to play through each of the 3 game modes once.

5. Madden NFL 10

Our final platinum recommendation is another short one. You’ll only need 5-10 hours to complete this game, and won’t need to branch out into too many of the game modes to finish it.The guide is very efficient in showing you the fastest ways to get these achievements.

That’s It!

Another advantage to this list is that most of these games have been out for a bit, and are therefore marked down. Plus, when you order this title from or purchase it at our stores, you can earn points in our Video Game Rewards Program! How many PlayStation trophies do you have?
